Nicely written. Miss Turner stated that she was speaking from a place where she really hadn't dived deeply into. So, she was actually speaking from a place of ignorance. She seemed to be younger in this interview. Her view was obviously skewed by her life circumstances, both past and present time. This shows why we should rarely if ever speak on a subject that we know little about. She was reacting off of feelings not facts. Hmmmm. They (the African people) were not rich enough, not refined enough, not classy enough for her to get the "vibe" she was searching for. They paid to see a concert just the same as the people on her European tours. Who knows what they had to sacrifice to be able to afford that luxury. A sad statement of affairs for her then and for us today. I still say that there is a bit of loss when anyone passes because it is a rite of passage that we will all eventually have to abide by. Thanks for your thoughts.
