Most of us have heard the statement that you have to work harder and be much better at your profession to get ahead if you don't fit the profile that our white counter parts often require. It is definitely harder for women, especially black women and introverts. I have always hated the descriptor of "not being a team player." It always meant to me that I wasn't allowing them to take enough credit, and didn't allow them to shine. (at cost to myself) Some things rarely change. Seems all we can do is to keep working hard, and defy their need to be put on a pedestal at our expense.
