I’m in agreement with you. I was speaking generally about not feeling the need to mute yourself; especially in our western society. I feel that for Black women to be recognized as valuable to themselves, they should not have to stifle their voices. When it comes down to partnered relationships I would hope that there would be enough respect and caring in it that neither of the people involved would have to do much complaining. Reciprocity covers that. Treating each other with dignity, respect, concern for the others needs, and a desire to aid in helping each other pursue happiness will go a long way.

But on a lighter note, everyone squeaks occasionally. We’re human, we are sometimes majorly flawed, and we want things to go our way. That’s when the art of compromise shines it’s light the best. Both of you wanting the best for, and doing your best to secure a meaningful relationship will make that goal a lot easier . Thanks.
