I genuinely respect all that you have written here, and I would never want to shame anyone for their differences. Differences are what make us, us. I don't think that this was the intention of the writer. I think the point was more likely than not saying, our society at large is just not there yet. Many people can't even begin to, nor do they care to recognize the trauma that trans, gay, lesbian, or any other disenfranchised group have to live with and fight against on the daily. You could not possibly think that they would be comfortable with a transitioning person showing their penis in the shower/ locker room. Black people have only recently ( a few decades) been able to drink from the same water fountains. How many stories have you heard recently about trans women being murdered just because they were trans, no exposed body parts needed. Hopefully one day will we live in a world( a utopia) where everyone's differences are celebrated, we are not there yet. I would love for everyone to be comfortable in the skin they are in, or if they're not, I'm all for making the needed changes to make oneself comfortable. This movement has just( in recent years) started to pick up steam, and move forward, remember that most change is gradual, painful, and difficult. Don't ever stop fighting for what you believe in, but be rest assured that the other side is going to put up just as hard of a fight. Be steadfast, but be wise, and be careful.
