First of all, this is well written. I appreciate the time and effort you put into stating the facts as you see them. Now... I actually own several "Black Girl Magic" tees. I wear them with pride; pride in knowing that I am a woman who sees herself worthy, a woman who sees herself as someone who lives in her truth. (I don't need anyone else's validation) I don't need to be famous. I don't need to possess a lot of money, or things. I don't need to have an adoring public, or a million Facebook friends. I just need to know that I am a child of light, vision, and ability, and that I am someone who deserves to walk around with all of my "Black Girl Magic" in full effect! The struggle for equality in America is far from being over. We need our young sisters especially to know that they are glorious, smart, and capable without having to aspire to having fame or fortune to attain to this stature. They are glorious because they are! It is not a competition the see who has the most "Black Girl Majic," therefore they should not have to fear not living up to the standards of anyone except themselves. This phrase is a positive affirmation to and about any Black Girl who wants to have the audacity to believe that she is someone great, and that she is not afraid to let others know that she knows it!
