Allison, this was an excellent piece! I really appreciate your references, and how you expounded on the core issues of this conundrum. I especially was impressed with the statement from Martin Niemoller. It is such an accurate assessment of thinking singularly as opposed to thinking of the collective. Many people are not concerned with negative issues until they hit home. We need to remember that what effects one group will eventually have an effect on us all.
